Sunday COVID-19 Statistics in Utah

SALT LAKE CITY-Sunday, the latest COVID-19 statistics were revealed for the state of Utah. Presently, 6,251 positive COVID-19 tests have occurred.

This is an increase of 148 positive tests in the past 24 hours. However, this is a -36 decrease in the net total cases from Saturday. Because only 3,216 Utahns were tested (146,510 total Utahns have been tested for COVID-19) in the past 24 hours, this caused the overall positive test percentage to increase to 4.266 percent. Saturday, the total was at 4.259 percent for overall positive test percentage.

4.6 percent of Utahns tested in the past 24 hours tested positive for COVID-19. This is an increase from 3.99 percent testing positive per Saturday’s results.

There have been 512 hospitalizations from COVID-19 in Utah, an increase of 14 from Saturday’s totals.

One new death occurred in Utah from COVID-19, bringing the net total to 67. This death was a man above the age of 60 in Salt Lake County.

Wasatch County received no new cases for COVID-19 for the second time in three days. This leaves Wasatch County with 176 total cases. There was one new hospitalization in Wasatch County in the past 24 hours, bringing that total to 8. There remains only one death from COVID-19 in Wasatch County. This occurred one month ago, April 10.

The Utah Coronavirus Task Force will conduct a briefing Monday at the Utah State Capitol Building.
