COALVILLE, Utah-Thursday, amid the stay at home orders that will occur in Summit County as of Friday, Summit County Sheriff Justin Martinez cleared up rumors going around concerning what will or will not be allowed.
Martinez confirms there will be no police checkpoints. Summit County residents may leave their homes, he also stated.
Martinez also confirmed he and his staff will not be doing house checks and that “stay at home” means to remain at home as much as possible when not doing essential activities. He confirmed this is not a “lock-down.”
Summit County residents may leave home to work in other counties, such as Wasatch County, if applicable, he confirmed.
Furthermore, grocery stores will not be closing and such things as yard work or leisurely drives will be permitted.
Summit County residents are invited to do outdoor activities, provided social distancing rules are kept.
However, non-Summit County residents are recommended not to engage in outdoor recreation activities in Summit County for the time being.
