COALVILLE, Utah-Because of current and forecast weather conditions, Utah state forester Brian Cottam and Summit County, in consultation with the county commission, has determined measures must be taken to prevent the ignition of forest and rangeland fires.
Through November 20, Summit County has prohibited the following:
-The discharge or use of any fireworks
The following persons are exempt from these restictions:
-Persons with a “display operator” license issued by the Utah State Fire Marshal’s Office AND any local permits required where the display is to occur.
This restriction extends to all unincorporated lands in Summit County. This order does not affect private lands within incorporated towns or city limits.
Any of the above acts is a violation of state law and is punishable by up to six months in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.
These restrictions will be enforced by county law enforcement.
