Summit County Imposes Stay-At-Home Order Upon Residents

COALVILLE, Utah-Wednesday, Summit County imposed a stay-at-home order upon residents.

This order will go into effect Friday at 12:01 am and applies to all “non-essential” businesses, services and visitors in addition to residents.

This decision was made by the Summit County Council, County Manager and Health Director in collaboration with the Summit County Board of Health and Mayors of the cities and towns of Summit County.

This requires all residents to stay at home and cease non-essential travels and operations at least until May 1.

Summit County Health Director, Dr. Rich Bullough, said this was done because Summit County’s COVID-19 cases are tantamount to coronavirus hot spots such as New York City and Italy.

When informed of Summit County’s division, Utah Governor Gary Herbert and his staff confirmed their understanding and support for their decision.
