Various sources confirm this was because of someone “dispatching” an injured deer. As soon as the perceived threat was identified, the lockdown was lifted.

Mullahy confirmed the lockdown is over. Wasatch High School has reopened. No one was hurt during the lockdown. The Wasatch School District also confirmed that the lockdown was lifted Coach Wardle, an assistant wrestling and football coach at Wasatch High School also confirmed these statements. Mullahy confirmed on his Twitter account that Wasatch County deputies are at the Wasatch County Library to respond to reports of the student with the gun.

The Wasatch County School District revealed this emanated from a threat being investigated by local law enforcement on their Facebook page. The district said students are to remain “securely in their classrooms while all classwork and activity continues as scheduled.” Parents have been told not to come into the high school to get their students. No one who is not already in the school is allowed inside until the lockdown is lifted.

Mullahy reported Wasatch High School is under lockdown after reports emerged of the student with the gun. The deputies had not confirmed the report, per the Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office.
