(Salt Lake City) — Governor Spencer Cox gave his State of the State Address last night in Salt Lake City. In the nearly half hour speech he outlined plans for the state to add 35-thousand starter homes in the next five years. Cox spoke to his proposed homelessness plan that would fund emergency shelters and affordable housing. Finally Cox highlighted his recently proposed Service Pilot Program that creates a year-long service fellowship allowing young adults to serve in qualifying nonprofits, community institutions and agencies with a living stipend, and tuition benefits.
