Southwest Utah Returns To Drought Conditions

(St. George, UT) — Southwest Utah is back to drought conditions thanks to a dry winter. The U.S. Drought Monitor shows most of Washington County and about a third of Iron County under some sort of drought conditions as of last week. A recent report from the Natural Resources Conservation Service noted this is the worst snowpack the region has seen in more than four decades. That goes along with a trend seen across the Beehive State, as roughly three-quarters of the state is in moderate to extreme drought.
