SLC Among 40 Airports To See Flight Cuts Tomorrow

(Salt Lake City, UT) — Salt Lake City International Airport is on the list of 40 airports facing major cuts starting tomorrow. ABC News obtained a copy of the list and it includes many big airports. Starting tomorrow, the number of flights will be reduced between four and 10 percent. This is all due to the longest federal government shutdown in history. Air traffic controllers haven’t been paid for weeks, and many of them are calling in sick. It’s a similar story for TSA agents. FAA official says safety is their number one concern, so they’re even considering shutting down parts of the U-S airspace.
