(Washington, DC) — The U.S. House of Representatives finally has its new Speaker, and Utah’s senators had different things to say about Mike Johnson. Senator Mike Lee took to X after the confirmation to congratulate the new Speaker,, Senator Mitt Romney was much more critical of the Louisiana congressman, telling the Huffington Post, “apparently experience isn’t necessary for the Speaker job.” Johnson’s highest position before taking up the gavel was as vice chairman of the House Republican Conference. He’s got his work cut out for him now with decisions to be made on several spending bills, and the Biden Administration’s proposed aid package for Israel and Ukraine.
