WASATCH COUNTY, Utah-
3:09 pm
Efforts to find the missing brothers remain fruitless as Wasatch County Sheriff Jared Rigby addressed the media. Dogs were employed to search the reservoir for the men but were unsuccessful. Accommodations have been made for family members of the missing brothers. The expectation is that the identities of the men will be revealed “at the end of the day,” Rigby commented. Rigby confirmed that Strawberry Reservoir remains open but the northeastern portion, where the men were lost, is closed at this point. Rigby said Summit County and personnel from Utah State Parks are using ROV’s, which are underwater drones with cameras on it. Rigby confirmed they are tethered to the boat and this is how they are controlled.

Thursday 7:06 pm
Thursday afternoon around 2:30 pm, two brothers , aged 61 and 70, respectively, were reported as missing at Strawberry Reservoir after an unoccupied boat was found running, per a report from the Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office confirmed this occurred near the shore in the Ladders area.
As soon as authorties declared they were missing, they began searching for them near the northeast area of Strawberry Reservoir.
It is believed the brothers are from Pleasant Grove and Salem, respectively.
Sergeant Ken Purdy of the sheriff’s office reported Wasatch County Search and Rescue was notified and deployed to the area.
Also contributing to the search are crews from Summit and Utah counties, state park rangers and the helicopter team from the Utah Department of Public Safety.
As the evening progressed, crews continued to comb the water, per Wasatch County Sheriff Jared Rigby while support teams will rejoin the search Friday morning.
