SALT LAKE CITY-Saturday, statistics were updated for covid-19 by the Utah Department of Health.
Since statistics have been kept, there have been 33,332 recorded cases of covid-19 in the Beehive State.
This represents an increase of 760 cases in the past 24 hours. It also represents a net increase of 33 cases in the same span.
With 456,240 tested, this increased the total tests by 8,434 in the past 24 hours.
This also caused the overall positive test percentage to increase to 7.305 percent. Friday, this was at 7.27 percent.
The 24-hour positive test percentage modeslty increased to 9.01 percent Saturday. Friday, this checked in at 8.78 percent.
There have been 20,421 recoveries from covid-19 in Utah per Saturday’s totals. This is an increase of 559 in the past 24 hours and a net decrease of 89 in the same span.
The recovery percentage rose to 61.26 percent Saturday. Friday, this number was at 60.97 percent.
There are currently 12,699 active cases of covid-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 223 in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 145 active cases in the same span.
The active case percentage in Utah decreased to 38.09 percent Saturday. Friday, this was at 38.3 percent.
Since statistics have been kept for covid-19 in the Beehive State, there have been 2,014 hospitalizations. This is an increase of 30 in the past 24 hours.
Current hospitalizations for covid-19 in Utah have dropped by 13 in the past 24 hours to 185.
This dropped the current covid-19 hospitalization percentage to 9.185 percent. The ICU statistics were skewed Saturday, rising to 49.189 percent. This occurred despite net ICU covid-19 hospitalizations dropping by five in the past 24 hours. This can be attributed to the -13 current hospitalizations in the same span.
Eight new deaths were attributed to covid-19 in the Beehive State in the past 24 hours. This caused the death total to rise to 243 deaths attributed to covid-19 in Utah for Saturday’s totals. This resulted in the overall death percentage rising to 0.729 percent. Friday, this was at 0.721 percent.
In Wasatch County Saturday, six new cases of covid-19 were reported, increasing the net total to 481 cases.
The hospitalizations (20) and deaths (4) remain unaltered in Wasatch County in the past 24 hours. The most recent death attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County occurred July 6.
