SALT LAKE CITY-Saturday, updated statistics for covid-19 in Utah were released by the state department of health.

Since statistics have been kept, there have been 51,406 recorded cases of covid-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 458 in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 67 in the same span.

650,560 Utahns have been tested for covid-19. This is an increase of 2,815 Utahns in the past 24 hours.

This increased the positive test percentage to 7.9 percent from Friday’s 7.86 percent. The 24-hour positive test percentage increased to 16.3 percent Saturday. Friday, this was at 7.84 percent.

There have been 43,342 recoveries from covid-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 383 in the past 24 hours and a net decrease of 64 in the same span.

The recovery percentage remained at 84.31 percent in Utah Saturday.

The gap between all-time cases and recoveries in Utah increased to 8,064, a net increase of 75 in the past 24 hours.

The active cases in Utah increased to 7,658 Saturday. This is a net increase of 75 in the past 24 hours. The current active case percentage in Utah is 14.89 percent.

The differential between recoveries and active cases increased to 35,684 Saturday. This is a net increase of 308 in the past 24 hours.

There have been 3,057 recorded hospitalizations from covid-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 16 in the past 24 hours.

The current hospitalizations for covid-19 in the past 24 hours increased by one, raising the total to 119.

This slightly increased the current covid-19 hospitalization percentage to 3.89 percent.

Presently, 48 of the 119 current covid-19 hospitalizations are in ICU, or 40.33 percent. This is an increase of four in the past 24 hours and represents a significant increase from Friday’s 37.3 percentage.

ICU is currently 61.7 percent occupied in Utah.

There are no new deaths reported from covid-19 in Utah per Saturday’s report as the total remains at 407. This dropped the death percentage to 0.791 percent Saturday. Friday, this was at 0.798 percent.

Wasatch County saw two new cases of covid-19 in the past 24 hours, raising the total to 629 cases.

The hospitalizations (25) and deaths (7) attributed to covid-19 remain unchanged in the past 24 hours in Wasatch County.

The most recent death attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County occurred August 28.
