Saturday COVID-19 Stats Updated For Utah

SALT LAKE CITY-Saturday, COVID-19 statistics were updated for Utah by the state’s department of health.

Since statistics have been kept, there have been 20,628 cases in the Beehive State for COVID-19. This is an increase of 578 cases in the past 24 hours but represents a net decrease of 98 cases in the same span.

There have now been 11,658 recovered cases from COVID-19 in the Beehive State. This set a state record for recovered cases in Utah for the second time in as many days as there were 561 new recoveries Saturday. There have been 1,016 recovered cases from COVID-19 in the past 48 hours in Utah.

This increases the recovery percentage from COVID-19 in Utah to 56.5 percent.

There are currently 8,803 active cases of COVID-19 in the Beehive State. However, this represents only a paltry increase of 16 active cases in the past 24 hours.

This also means that in the past 24 hours, there has been a net decrease of 203 active cases. This dropped the active cases of COVID-19 in Utah to 42.67 percent of all those who have had the virus in the Beehive State.

There have been 322,802 total tests administered for COVID-19 in Utah as there were 5,234 tests administered in the past 24 hours.

This caused the overall positive test percentage to slightly increase to 6.39 percent. The 24-hour positive test percentage dropped from 12.3 percent on Friday to 11.04 percent on Saturday.

Since statistics have been kept for COVID-19 in Utah, there have been 1,365 hospitalizations. This is an increase of 44 in the past 24 hours.

However, the current hospitalizations only rose by 15 in the past 24 hours to 189. This kept the current hospitalization percentage stable, at 13.84 percent.

There are presently 77 of the 189 currently hospitalized COVID-19 cases in ICU. This is a decrease of three, knocking the percentage down significantly, to 40.7 percent of all COVID-19 cases hospitalized. Friday, this number was at 45.97 percent.

There was one new death in Utah Saturday from COVID-19 in Utah, bringing the net total of deaths to 167. This dropped the nation’s lowest death rate percentage even lower, to 0.00809 percent.

Wasatch County had five new cases of COVID-19 Saturday, bringing the net total to 399 cases since statistics began being kept. There was one new hospitalization in Wasatch County from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, bringing the total hospitalizations to 21. There remain three deaths in Wasatch County from COVID-19. The last death occurred June 19.
