SALT LAKE CITY-Saturday, updated COVID-19 statistics in Utah were released by the Utah Department of Health.
Since statistics have been kept, there have been 24,542 recorded cases of COVID-19 in the Beehive State. This is an increase of 656 in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 60 cases in the same span.
There have been 13,807 recovered cases in Utah from COVID-19. This is an increase of 399 and a net increase of 67 in the same span. Presently, 56.25 percent of all COVID-19 cases in the Beehive State are recovered.
There are presently 10,554 active cases of COVID-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 277 active cases in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 18 active cases in the same span.
Currently, 43 percent of all COVID-19 cases in the Beehive State are active.
Presently, there are 3,253 more recoveries in Utah than active cases. This is a net increase of 122 in the past 24 hours.
There have been 366,717 total tests in Utah for COVID-19. This is an increase of 10,080 in the past 24 hours.
This caused the overall positive test percentage to stay stable at 6.69 percent, the same number from Friday. The 24-hour positive test percentage slightly increased to 6.50 percent from Friday’s 5.81 percent.
There have been 1,565 hospitalizations in the Beehive State from COVID-19 since statistics began being recorded for the virus.
This represents a net increase of 36 in the past 24 hours.
There are seven new current hospitalizations from COVID-19 in Utah, raising this number to 193.
However, the current hospitalization percentage remains stable at 12.3 percent.
There are presently 88 of the currently hospitalized COVID-19 cases in ICU. This caused the COVID ICU percentage to sightly drop from 45.7 percent Friday to 45.5 percent Saturday.
There are no new deaths in the past 24 hous in the Beehive State as the death count stays at 181 Saturday. This caused the nation’s lowest death rate from COVID-19 to drop to 0.007375 percent.
In Wasatch County, there was one new case of COVID-19 recorded in the past 24 hours. This brings the net case total in Wasatch County to 419 cases. The hospitalizations (20) and deaths (3) remain unchanged from the previous day. The last recorded death in Wasatch County from COVID-19 occurred June 19.
