SALT LAKE CITY-Saturday, covid-19 statistics were updated for the state of Utah by the state department of health.
Since statistics began being kept, there have been 48,814 recorded cases of covid-19. This is an increase of 369 cases in the past 24 hours and a net decrease of 94 in the same span.
There have been 622,363 Utahns tested for covid-19. This is an increase of 2,426 Utahns in the pat 24 hours.
This increased the positive test percentage to 7.84 percent. Friday, this was at 7.82 percent.
The 24-hour positive test percentage increased to 15.21 percent. Friday, this was at 12.8 percent.
There have been 40,322 recoveries from covid-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 455 in the past 24 hours and a net decrease of 52 in the same span.
Presently, 82.60 percent of covid-19 cases in Utah are recovered. This is an increase of 0.31 percent in the past 24 hours.
There are 8,492 more all-time covid-19 cases than recoveries in Utah. This is a decrease of 86 in the past 24 hours.
There are currently 8,077 active cases of covid-19 in Utah. This is a decrease of 118 in the past 24 hours.
The active case percentage fell to 16.5 percent. Friday, this was at 16.9 percent.
There are currently 32,245 more recoveries than active cases. The differential increased by 573 in the past 24 hours.
There have been 2,899 recorded hospitalizations in Utah from covid-19 since statistics began being kept. This represents an increase of 29 in the past 24 hours.
The current hospitalizations for covid-19 increased by two to 131. The percentage increased to 4.51 percent Saturday. Friday, this was at 4.49 percent.
Of the 131, 56 are currently in ICU. This is a decrease of two in the past 24 hours, dropping the percentage to 42.74 percent. Friday, this was at 44.99 percent.
Saturday, 64.9 percent of ICU is occupied in Utah.
There have been two new deaths attributed to covid-19 in the past 24 hours in Utah, raising the total to 385 deaths.
The death percentage decreased to 0.788 percent from Friday’s 0.790 percent.
Wasatch County saw two new cases of covid-19 in Utah in the past 24 hours, raising the net total to 611.
The hospitalizations (25) and deaths (4) attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County remained unchanged in the past 24 hours.
The most recent death attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County occurred July 6.
