Saturday COVID-19 Stats

SALT LAKE CITY-Saturday, a record number of COVID-19 cases in a day were recorded in the Beehive State as the Utah Department of Health revealed the latest statistics for the virus in Utah.

There have now been 17,068 recorded cases of COVID-19 since statistics began to be kept on the virus.

This is an increase of 643 cases in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 57 cases in the same span.

There have been 9,390 recovered cases from COVID-19. This is an increase of 277 recoveries in the past 24 hours but a -50 decrease in the same span. Recovered cases from COVID-19 in Utah represent 55.01 percent of all COVID-19 cases in the Beehive State.

Active cases continue to increase as there are now 7,523 in Utah. This is an increase of 366 in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 110 in the same span. Active cases currently represent 44.07 percent of all Beehive State COVID-19 cases.

There have been 292,877 total tests administered for COVID-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 5,339 tess in the past 24 hours.

This increased the overall positive test percentage to 5.82 percent. However, for the third consecutive day, the 24-hour positive test percentage dropped. On Saturday, the 24-hour positive test percentage checked in at 12.04 percent. Friday, it had been at 12.07 percent.

Since statistics have been kept for COVID-19 in Utah, there have been 1,161 net hospitalizations. This represents a net increase of 16 hospitalizations in the past 24 hours.

However, there are only 152 current hospitalizations for those diagnosed with COVID-19. This is an increase of 3 in the past 24 hours, slightly increasing the current hospitalization percentage to 13.09 percent.

No new deaths were recorded in the Beehive State Saturday. This kept the death total at 155 deaths and dropped the nation’s lowest death percentage from COVID-19 even lower, to 0.00908 percent.

Wasatch County experienced nine new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, raising the net total in the Wasatch Back to 380 cases.

There have been 18 hospitalizations and 3 deaths in Wasatch County as well. The most recent death occurred June 19.
