SALT LAKE CITY-Saturday, covid-19 stats were updated for the Beehive State by the state department of health.
Since statistics began being kept, there have been 43,751 recorded cases of covid-19 in Utah.
This is an increase of 376 cases in the past 24 hours and a net decrease of 84 in the same span.
566,355 Utahns have been tested for covid-19. This is an increase of 7,255 tests in the past 24 hours.
The overall test percentage is 7.72 percet Saturday which is slightly down from Friday’s 7.75 percent.
The 24-hour positive test percentage plummeted to 5.18 percent Saturday. This number was at 12.4 percent Friday.
There have been 33,115 recoveries from covid-19 in the Beehive State. This is an increase of 744 recoveries in the past 24 hours and a net decrease of 8 in the same span.
Currently, 75.68 percent of all covid-19 cases in Utah are recovered.
There are presently 10,301 active cases in Utah. This is net decrease of 368 active cases in the past 24 hours.
The current active case percentage in Utah is 23.5 percent.
There are presently 22,814 more recoveries than active cases. The differential increased by 1,112 in the past 24 hours.
Since statistics began being kept, there have been 2,604 hospitalizations recorded in the Beehive State. This is an increase of 26 in the past 24 hours.
There are presently 195 current hospitalizations, representing a net decrease of 7 in the past 24 hours. This caused the current hospitalization percentage to drop to 7.48 percent.
Of these 195 current hospitalizations for covid-19 in Utah, 77 are in ICU. This is a net decrease of four in the past 24 hours. The ICU covid-19 hospitalization percentage dropped to 39.48 percent. The Friday ICU covid-19 hospitalization percentage was 40.09 percent.
Presently, 65.6 percent of ICU space is occupied.
There were no new deaths attributed to covid-19 in Utah in the past 24 hours, keeping the death count t 335.
This caused the death percentage to drop to 0.765 percent. Friday, this number was at 0.772 percent.
In Wasatch County, there are six new recorded cases of covid-19 in the past 24 hours. There have been 558 recorded cases of covid-19 in Wasatch County. The hospitalizations (21) and deaths (4) attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County remain unchanged in the past 24 hours.
The most recent death attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County occurred July 6.
