Salt Lake NAACP President Williams Running For State House Seat

(West Valley City, UT) — The president of the Salt Lake Branch of the NAACP is running for the state House of Representatives. Longtime civil rights activist Jeanetta Williams filed yesterday to run to represent House District 26. Williams is challenging Republican Representative Matt MacPherson. The West Valley City Republican was picked by GOP delegates to replace former Representative Quinn Kotter, who resigned during his first term. State House District 26 is considered one of the most competitive seats in Utah. Kotter won it by fewer than 150 votes in 2022.
