Salt Lake County Officials Slowly Ease Up Stay At Home Order, Are Planning Next Steps

SALT LAKE COUNTY-Friday, Salt Lake County Mayor Jenny Wilson announced the county will start to slowly go away from the “Stay Safe, Stay Home” order.

Wilson explained this will be a deliberate process during her remarks.

The newly-revised directive will now be called “Stay Smart, Stay Safe.”

Wilson spoke of the importance of maintaining social distancing guidelines and reminding everyone in the county to be sanitary. Wilson also requests that all county residents go out in public with a mask.

Wilson said that Salt Lake County’s plan is in alignment with plans released by Utah Governor Gary Herbert earlier Friday for the state of Utah as his Utah Leads Together initiative reaches the stabilization phase.

Presently in Salt Lake County, large gatherings are still prohibited. Restaurants will still remain closed to indoor seating, but patrons are now allowed to go inside and order food.

These things are all contingent upon residents adhering to social distancing guidelines.
