UINTA-WASATCH-CACHE NATIONAL FOREST, Utah-Monday, the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest released its latest information concerning construction activity on U.S. Highway 40 in the Strawberry Valley from Daniels Summit to milepost 46.
Work crews are currently applying a gravel (chip) seal to the roadway. This is to enhance traction and extend the life of the pavement throughout the project corridor.
Drivers should be aware of moving equipment and workers near travel lanes.
Construction activities will occur from 9:00 am-8:00 pm and possible flagging and pilot car operations will occur.
Additionally, there will be lane shifts, delays of up to 15 minutes and additional speed reduction on newly placed seal material will be implemented.
The speed limit has been reduced to 55 mph in the area and everyone is advised to avoid drowsy or impaired driving.
Restrictions remain in effect for heavy and wide loads exceeding 12 feet through completion of the project: fall 2020.
