Range Fire Causes Temporary Closure For Various Provo Canyon Parks

PROVO CANYON, Utah-Monday evening, Utah Fire Info announced temporary closures for the following parks alongside U.S. Highway 189 in Provo Canyon:

-Canyon Glen Park

-Canyon View Park

-Mt. Timpanogos Park

-Nunns Park

-Bridal Veil Falls/Park

-Upper Falls Picnic Area

The Provo River Trail has also been closed from the mouth of Provo Canyon to Vivian Park.

This is for firefighter and public safety because helicopters are dipping from multiple sections of the Provo River.

Firefighters are actively engaged in fire suppression from several of these locations.

The Dry Canyon Trailhead is currently closed along with trail No. 049 (Dry Canyon Trail) and trail No. 033 (Little Baldy/Great Western Trail).

Firefighters are presently working in the area east of the Dry Canyon Trail mopping up hot spots.

Furthermore, S.R. 92 from U.S. Highway 189 to S.R. 114 (Cascade Springs Road) also remains closed at this time.
