(Provo, UT) — A Provo man who was killed by FBI agents earlier this month confronted police with an assault-style rifle five years ago. Records made public on Tuesday show that Craig Robertson allegedly pointed what’s described as an AR-15 at two Google Fiber workers in 2018. The workers needed to access a utility pole in Robertson’s backyard. They called police when Robertson allegedly pointed a rifle at them. Robertson was holding the rifle when an officer rang his doorbell. The police report said that “triggered a bit of a standoff, before Robertson finally followed the officer’s request to put the gun down. The officer stayed on site while the Google Fiber workers installed service for Robertson’s neighbor. Robertson made social media posts threatening President Biden ahead of Biden’s visit to Utah earlier this month. He was shot and killed by FBI agents on August 9th after he allegedly pointed a gun at them when they came to his home to arrest him.
