Prominent Heber City Resident Accepts New Position With Zions Bank

HEBER CITY, Utah-Monday is the last day on the job for prominent Heber City resident Mark Anderson as he moves up in the world. Anderson, the Heber City manager, is accepting a new job with Zions Bank Public Finance, per a report in the Wasatch Wave.

Anderson is assuming the responsibility of Municipal Finance Relationship Manager with Salt Lake City-based Zions Bank.

In this role, Anderson will serve as a financial adviser to governmental entities issuing debt and will work in Salt Lake City out of Zion’s corporate headquarters.

In March 1990, Anderson was appointed as Heber City recorder and finance director by then-mayor Scott Wright.

In those days, Heber City had less than 5,000 residents but in his tenure, the population now boasts roughly 16,000 people.

In October 1998, Anderson became the first city manager in Heber City history.

In his tenure, Anderson was instrumental in the Valley Station development (the Boyer project), the Red Ledges Development, the 2002 Olympics Community celebration, the Public Safety Building construction, Public Works building construction and current expansion, Power Industrial Park development, airport improvements and the beautification of Main Street.
