SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The Utah County sheriff’s office has resumed a search Thursday morning for two teenagers who went missing on Utah Lake earlier this week.
Two girls, ages 17 and 18, were reported missing by family members Wednesday after going to the Knolls area on the west side of the lake, The Salt Lake Tribune reported.
The search was originally suspended about 3 a.m. and resumed around 7:30 a.m. The girls have yet to be located.
Authorities found a floating tube along the shoreline and another on the lake. They are believed to have been used by the girls.
The water temperature in Utah Lake is 57 degrees, “and it would be very difficult to last very long … in water temperature like that,” Sgt. Spencer Cannon said.
