PROVO, Utah (AP) — A Utah man is facing charges after police say he tried to cut off a woman’s fingers with a kitchen knife during a fight.
The Daily Herald reports Johnathan Sauceda was arrested Friday in Provo after the victim pushed him away and called police.
According to police reports, the 25-year-old Sauceda got into a fight with a woman in her Provo house. Authorities say Sauceda grabbed the woman by the arm and pushed her against the kitchen counter then tried to cut her fingers off with a kitchen knife.
Police say Sauceda fled the scene but was arrested later.
Sauceda was charged with aggravated assault and domestic violence in the presence of a child.
It was not known if he had an attorney.
