GENOLA, Utah-Friday morning, one was killed in a crash on U.S. Highway 6 near Genola per a statement from Utah Highway Patrol troopers.
Around 10:30 am, a white Ford Explorer was headed westbound on U.S. 6 near 800 South at which point it drifted over the center line into oncoming traffic, witnesses confirmed.
The driver of a white Kenworth semi-truck coming from the opposite direction saw the Explorer drift into the lane and begin pulling over to the right shoulder, per UHP officials.
The Explorer kept drifting left and collided with the semi-truck on the driver’s side.
The semi-truck stopped on the right shoulder as the Explorer spun and stopped in the middle of the road.
The Explorer’s driver suffered fatal injuries, dying at the scene.
The semi-truck’s driver was uninjured.
As Friday progressed, the cause of the crash was still under investigation.
The crash closed U.S. 6 for several hours but it had been reopened as of 3:40 pm., officials confirmed.
The name and gender of the individual killed in the crash were not released.
