No New Temples Announced At LDS General Conference

(Salt Lake City, UT) — President Oaks did not announce any new temples during The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ semiannual general conference this month. Oaks is the leader of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. He spoke at the close of the two-day conference in place of the late Church president, Russell M. Nelson. Oaks said Nelson had announced 200 temples during his presidency. He added that it is now an “appropriate” time to slow new announcements while construction continues. Nelson passed away one week before the conference. His funeral is scheduled for Tuesday. The next Church president will be named after the funeral.
