SALT LAKE CITY-Monday, statistics were updated for covid-19 by the Utah Department of Health for the daily report.
Since statistics have been kept, there have been 34,526 recorded cases of covid-19 in the Beehive State. This represents an increase of 409 cases in the past 24 hours and a net decrease of 376 cases in the same span.
There have been 469,404 tests administered for covid-19 in Utah since statistics began being kept. Symmetrically, this is a net increase of 6,582 tests in the past 24 hours and equals the amount of tests recorded Sunday.
This caused the overall positive test percentage to drop to 7.35 percent from Sunday’s 7.37 percent. The 24-hour positive test percentage dropped to 6.21 percent Monday. Sunday, this number checked in at 11.92 percent.
There have been 21,504 recoveries from covid-19 in Utah per Monday’s report. This is an increase of 589 recoveries in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 95 in the same span. This caused the recovery percentage in Utah to increase to 62.28 percent. Sunday, this number was at 61.3 percent.
Presently, there are 12,776 active cases of covid-19 in Utah. This is a net decrease of 184 cases in the past 24 hours and a net decrease of negative 68 in the same span. This caused the active case percentage to plummet to 37.003 percent.
This caused an increase of 773 more recovered cases than active cases in the past 24 hours. There are presently 8,728 more recovered cases in Utah than active cases of covid-19.
There have been 2,066 hospitalizations recorded from covid-19 in the Beehive State since statistics began being kept. This represents an increase of 33 hospitalizations in the past 24 hours.
There are currently 199 hospitalizations for covid-19 in Utah. This caused the current covid-19 hospitalization percentage to drop to 9.632 percent. The ICU covid-19 current hospitalizations increased by three in the past 24 hours, to 105. This caused the ICU covid-19 current hospitalization percentage to increase to 52.76 percent. ICU is currently 60.4 percent full based on Monday’s numbers.
There are four new deaths in Utah attributed to covid-19 in the past 24 hours. This caused the death total to rise to 247 in the Beehive State for covid-19. This caused the overall death rate percentage to increase to 0.715 Monday. Sunday, this number was at 0.712.
Wasatch County saw two new recorded cases of covid-19 in the past 24 hours. This caused the net case total to rise to 491. The hospitalizations (20) and deaths (4) attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County remain unchanged in the past 24 hours.
The last death attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County occurred July 6.
