MIDWAY, Utah-Sunday, Midway resident McKardy Kelly was honored for being named as the national high school rodeo queen with a parade in her honor down Midway’s Main Street.
Kelly is the first Utahn to win this event since 2008 and earned this distinction after excelling at the National High School Rodeo Assocation Finals at Rock Springs, Wyo. this weekend.
Kelly bested a field of 42 contestants, including competitors from the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Australia.
Kelly expressed admiration for her community as they came out to support her, saying she was “super overwhelmed” by the love she felt.
