Man Accused In Santaquin Officer’s Death Has History Of Violence Against Police

(Santaquin, UT) — Authorities say Michael Jayne, the man accused of fatally hitting a Santaquin police officer with a semi-truck on Sunday, has a history of violent crimes against law enforcement. A similar incident took place in Oregon back in 2009, when Jayne was charged with the attempted murder of an Oregon State Trooper after he tried to ram two police cruisers. He was also charged in California for assault on a correctional officer and making criminal threats. Officials say Jayne also has a history of getting into high-speed car chases with police.
