Maloy Still Ahead, But Lead Is Shrinking

(St. George, UT) — Utah Congresswoman Celeste Maloy’s lead is getting smaller. Updated primary election results from Monday show the Republican’s lead over challenger Colby Jenkins went from 381 votes to 309. As of now, the margin has yet to hit the threshold that would allow for a recount which is point-two-five percent of the total vote. Maloy is running for her first full term after she took over for Chris Stewart following his resignation from the seat last year. Utah’s 2nd District covers a major portion of the state, including St. George and Salt Lake City.
