LDS, Other Religious Groups Challenge Transgender Protections In Supreme Court Brief

(Washington, DC) — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, along with Evangelical, Baptist, and Jewish organizations, filed a Supreme Court brief opposing legal protections for transgender people. The brief argues such protections could “jeopardize established rights and protections securing religious freedom.” LGBTQ-plus advocates counter that transgender rights do not prevent people from practicing their religion.
