Lawmakers Support Bringing Professional Hockey Team To Utah

(Salt Lake City, UT) — Senate lawmakers in Salt Lake City are in agreement that the state needs its own National Hockey League team franchise. A Senate resolution supporting the establishment of an NHL team in Utah was unanimously approved with applause yesterday. Utah Jazz owners Ryan and Ashley Smith, and the Smith Entertainment Group, are seeking a franchise, and formally requested on January 24th that the league consider expansion to Utah. The Smiths were at the capital for the vote.
