(Salt Lake City, UT) — The Associate Chief Justice of the Utah Supreme Court is announcing his retirement. John Pearce was appointed to the state Supreme Court in 2015 and selected as Associate Chief Justice in 2022. In a letter to Governor Spencer Cox, Pearce said the time has come to “start a new chapter of his career and find new ways to serve the people of Utah.” His retirement from the bench takes effect on December 1st.
