Jon Huntsman Amasses Enough Signatures Ahead Of Monday Deadline

SALT LAKE CITY-Monday, Utah Republican governor candidate Jon Huntsman Jr. secured enough signatures to qualify for the primary ballot.

Huntsman was endorsed for this position last week by Utah Republican Senator Mike Lee.

On his Twitter account, Huntsman thanked the “great people” of Utah “who responded in record numbers to allow us a primary slot on the ballot [for governor].”

Huntsman professes his campaign has enough energy to “lead out” against his competitors vying for this position.

Other candidates include Jeff Burningham, state senator Dan McCay, Jason Christensen, Utah lieutenant governor Spencer Cox, state senator Deidre Henderson, Jan Garbett, Joseph Jarvis, Greg Hughes, Salt Lake County councilwoman Aimee Winder Newton, Utah State Auditor John Dougall, Republican National Committee executive committee member Thomas Wright and Utah 1st congressional district U.S. Representative Rob Bishop.

Huntsman has confirmed Provo mayor Michelle Kaufusi will be his running mate.
