Investigation into Climbing Bolts at Historic Petroglyph Site

(Salt Lake City, UT) — Authorities are investigating the illegal installation of climbing bolts on the Pregnant Sheep Petroglyph Panel, a protected site on the National Register of Historic Places. Six bolts were found near the panel last month, violating restrictions on altering archaeological sites. The Bureau of Land Management and Uintah County Sheriff’s Office are seeking help from the public to identify those responsible.
