SALT LAKE CITY-With some restrictions, Utah’s Hogle Zoo of Salt Lake City is slated to reopen Saturday.
In a prepared release, CEO Steven Burns confirmed “the staff and animals will be happy to see you” following what will have proven to be a 50-day ban.
The zoo will restrict the amount of guests who enter per day to assist with social distancing.
Other restrictions for those who choose to visit include:
-tickets must be purchased online in advance
-when purchasing a ticket, you can choose a 30-minute time slot to enter the zoo and can only enter during that 30-minute window
-guests must bring their own face masks and wear them at all times while at the zoo, except while eating. Masks should cover both noses and mouths.
-indoor exhibits will remain closed, as well as playgrounds, the train and the carousel.
-the zoo will plot a one-way path through exhibits that guests are expected to follow to maintain social distancing
-for those who choose to eat at the zoo, walk-up service will be available and dining must be done outdoors.
Hogle Zoo members will not need to purchase a ticket, but must follow the same process and must bring the ticket with them to the zoo, presenting their membership pass to gain entry.
Anyone with questions about these requirements or entry process was invited to visit the zoo’s Web site or call 1-801-584-1767.
The zoo will be open Sunday-Saturday from 9:00 am-6:00 pm.
