(Salt Lake City, UT) — Experts say Utah will see a higher-than-normal risk of wildfires this year. Starting next month, the state’s weather pattern is expected to turn hot and dry, and that dry pattern will likely stay in place through the summer months. The weather conditions will result in lots of dried-out vegetation, which becomes fuel for wildfires. Officials say you should take extra precautions this summer when doing any outdoor activities involving sparks or flames, such as campfires or target shooting.
