Heber Valley LDS Temple Faces Concerns

On Oct. 26, Heber Valley community members packed the Wasatch Senior Center auditorium to voice their opinions on the Heber Valley Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Issues discussed included traffic concerns, loss of view of the surrounding mountains and light pollution. Back in April, the Wasatch County Council met with church leaders to establish an agreement on the county’s outdoor lighting regulations reaching an agreement allowing for changes in the regulations. Some residents shared that they were not opposed to the temple, but to the location, asking for a new one to be picked that’s not across form their neighborhood. No decision was made and a second hearing on the issue is scheduled for Nov. 8.
