UINTA-WASATCH-CACHE NATIONAL FOREST, Utah-Friday, the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest confirmed a controlled burn started in Alpine Acres at 12:40 pm.
This consisted of burning slash piles to reduce hazardous fuel in the Gardner’s Fork area.
The forest confirms the burning will last until the project is completed. This could take as long as a few weeks.
Additionally, Friday, the forest confirmed a new guardrail is being constructed along U.S. Highway 40 between mileposts 34 and 40. This is in Strawberry Valley from Daniels Summit to Soldier Creek.
Drivers should be cautious of any restrictions that may occur within this area and be aware of all ongoing construction activities while driving safely.
Crews will also work on extending the Strawberry River box culvert. Road construction activities, pending on possible inclement weather, will resume in spring 2020.
