Heber City Man Arrested For Raping Child

(Heber City, UT) — A Heber City man was arrested over the weekend for allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl. The child was found under a blanket in the back seat of a vehicle driven by 30-year-old Miguel Chavelas-Astudillo, who initially told officers that he and the girl were eating in the car. However, a search of the car revealed a used condom, and police say he later admitted to sexually assaulting the girl. Police booked Chavelas-Astudillo into the Wasatch County Jail early Sunday morning. He’s charged with one count of first-degree rape of a child.
