(Washington, D.C.) — GOP Senator Mike Lee is one of many Washington Republicans to come forward and say they will be blocking government funding until the southern border crisis is resolved. The senator believes President Biden is not exhausting every option available to fix the problem without congress. Lee proposed reinstating the Remain in Mexico policy on Wednesday after December saw the most migrants cross the southern border in a single month since 2000. Two important spending deadlines are approaching in Congress that would effect federal programs related to defense, housing, and agriculture amongst others.
