WEST HAVEN, Utah-Sunday morning, fire fighting units representing the Weber, Roy, Riverdale and Clinton districts per the Weber Fire District.

Upon arrival, crews discovered heavy smoke coming from the garage. All residents and animals in the home were able to be safely evacuated and were not injured.

Crews were able to control the fire in half an hour and are still investigating the cause.

The rest of the home avoided damages. This was likely because the door between the home and garage was closed.

Weber Fire recommends the closure of garage doors while ensuring the self-closing mechanism on these doors works in the case of a garage fire.
