Friday Report Released for covid-19 in Utah

SALT LAKE CITY-Friday, covid-19 statistics for Utah were released by the state department of health.

Since statistics began being kept, there have been 53,839 recorded cases of covid-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 513 in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 9 in the past 24 hours.

There have been 679,916 Utahns tested for covid-19. This is an increase of 6,057 Utahns in the past 24 hours.

This increased the positive test percentage to 7.92 percent. Thursday, this was at 7.91 percent. The 24-hour positive test percentage in Utah dropped to 8.46 percent Friday. Thursday, this was at 9.62 percent.

There are currently 45,547 recoveries from covid-19 in Utah per Friday’s report. This is an increase of 555 in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 221 recoveries in the same span.

This increased the recovery percentage to 84.59 percent Friday. Thursday, this was at 84.37 percent.

The gap between all-time recorded cases and recovered cases in Utah shrank to 8,292 per Friday’s report. This is a decrease of 39 in the past 24 hours.

There are currently 7,873 active cases of covid-19 in Utah. This is a decrease of 44 in the past 24 hours. The current active case percentage in Utah is 14.623 percent. This is down from Thursday’s 14.84 percent.

The differential between recoveries and active cases in Utah increased to 37,674. This is a net increase of 596 in the past 24 hours.

There have been 3,172 recorded hospitalizations from covid-19 in Utah per Friday’s report. This is an increase of 19 in the past 24 hours.

There are currently 121 hospitalizations for covid-19 in Utah. This is an increase of one in the past 24 hours but the current hospitalization percentage remained intact from Thursday at 3.81 percent.

The ICU cases currently hospitalized for covid-19 increased by 9 in the past 24 hours, placing the figure at 44.6 percent. Thursday, this number was at 35.83 percent.

ICU is currently 69.1 percent occupied in Utah.

Five new deaths attributed to covid-19 in Utah occurred in the past 24 hours. This raises the death total to 419 deaths. The death percentage rose to 0.778 percent Friday from Thursday’s 0.776 percent.

In Wasatch County, one new recorded case of covid-19 occurred in the past 24 hours. This raises the covid-19 total in Wasatch County to 649 all-time cases. The hospitalizations (27) and deaths (7) attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County remain unchanged in the past 24 hours.

The most recent death attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County occurred August 28.
