SALT LAKE CITY-Friday, covid-19 statistics were updated for Utah by the state department of health.
This includes a seventh recorded death from covid-19 in Wasatch County. The Wasatch County Health Department confirms this was a female between the ages of 65 and 85 who passed away at home.
Since statistics began being kept, there have been 50,948 recorded cases of covid-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 391 in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 12 in the same span.
There have been 647,745 Utahns tested for covid-19 per Friday’s report. This is an increase of 4,984 Utahns in the past 24 hours.
The positive test percentage remained unchanged in the past 24 hours, staying at 7.86 percent.
The 24-hour positive test percentage increased to 7.84 percent Friday. Thursday, this was at 7.05 percent.
There have been 42,959 recoveries from covid-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 447 in the past 24 hours and a net decrease of 128 in the same span. The recovery percentage increased to 84.31 percent Friday. This is an increase of 0.23 percent in the past 24 hours.
The differential between all-time covid-19 cases in Utah and recoveries decreased to 7,989. This is a decrease of 56 in the past 24 hours.
There are currently 7,583 active cases in Utah. This is a decrease of 60 in the past 24 hours. The current active case percentage in Utah is 14.8 percent.
The differential between recoveries and active cases in Utah increased to 35,376 Friday. This is an increase of 507 in the past 24 hours.
There have been 3,041 recorded hospitalizations in Utah for covid-19. This is an increase of 26 in the past 24 hours.
The current hospitalizations for covid-19 dropped to 118. This is a decrease of two in the past 24 hours. The current hospitalization percentage for covid-19 dropped to 3.88 percent. This number was at 3.98 percent Thursday.
There are 44 currently hospitalized covid-19 cases in ICU. This is an increase of three in the past 24 hours. The ICU covid-19 hospitalization percentage increased to 37.3 percent of ICU. Presently, 64.9 percent of ICU is occupied in Utah.
The Wasatch County death was among four attributed to covid-19 in Utah Friday. This increased the death total to 407. The death percentage slightly increased to 0.798 percent Friday. Thursday, this was at 0.797 percent.
Wasatch County has two new cases of covid-19 in the past 24 hours, increasing the total to 627 cases. The hospitalizations for covid-19 in Wasatch County (25) remained unchanged in the past 24 hours.
