Federal Government Shutdown Impacts Utah Services

(Salt Lake City, UT) — Many federal services across the Beehive State shuttered yesterday amid the U.S Government shutdown. Officials with Utah’s national parks say Arches, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, and Zion remain open, though services and staffing are reduced. Law enforcement is reportedly taking care of shuttles, trash pickup, and restroom access where possible. VA Medical Centers, outpatient clinics, and vet centers in Salt Lake City will continue operating, with benefits, burials, suicide prevention, homelessness services and caregiver support unaffected by the shutdown.
