SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A father and daughter were struck by lightning in central Utah.
KSL-TV reports that Utah State Parks spokesman Eugene Swalberg says the two were struck Thursday night outside a museum in Fillmore, Utah. They were part of a youth group visiting the Territorial Statehouse State Park Museum
Swalberg says the two were taken to nearby medical facilities but he was unsure of their conditions. He says the girl was conscious and alert but not the man.
Group chaperone Scott Hartley says it had been intermittently raining when they heard a big crack and buzz, sending people scattering. Hartley is a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints bishop.
