Employee At Fiber-Optic Company Charged With Embezzlement 

(Salt Lake City, UT)  –  An employee at the state’s high-speed fiber optic network is accused of embezzling over 90-thousand-dollars.  Gloria Cortez was charged with communications fraud and misuse of public money on Wednesday.  Officials at Utopia say Cortez controlled finances at the company for more than three years and spent more than 50-thousand-dollars on iTunes gift cards.  A lawyer for Cortez says she plans to plead not guilty to the charges.Â
