A report from ABC 4 Utah in Salt Lake City confirms the Deer Creek Fire is 100 percent contained and all roads in the area have been reopened.

A report from KPCW Radio confirms the Deer Creek Fire is now at 60 percent containment. The fire has not grown from 381 acres since Wednesday. Officials combating the blaze hope the fire is 100 percent contained on Saturday. There is still no definitive information on what caused the fire.

Utah Wildfire reports the fire is now 40 percent contained.

A 3:00 pm report from KPCW reporter David Boyle confirms the Heber Creeper is a possible cause for the blaze and it remains 20 percent contained at this hour.

Thursday morning, more word on the Deer Creek Fire from Utah Fire Info.
Their report states the blaze is presently 20 percent contained and the cause of the fire still remains unknown despite speculation from residents that it was caused by the sparks from passing trains.
The report also states it has grown to 381 acres.
Wednesday – 5:30 PM
A report from KSL-TV’s Chopper 5 helicopter on Twitter confirms as of 5:07 pm MDT that tankers are dropping retardant ahead of the wildfire in hopes of quelling the flames. Also, Sam Penrod of KSL-TV reports the blaze had grown to more than 250 acres as of 4:12 pm MDT although U.S. Highway 40 remains open in this area.
It did rain considerably throughout the Heber Valley this afternoon and this should help firefighters with their efforts in battling the fire.
Wednesday – 2:00 PM
Wednesday afternoon, news emerged of another blaze emerging in Wasatch County as the Deer Creek Fire started around 12:23 pm.
Utah Wildfire reports this started near Deer Creek Reservoir and had scorched 150 acres as of 1:13 pm.
Utah Wildfire states resources are on scene in the area. Be really cautious driving between Heber City and Park City along U.S. Highway 40 in the affected region.
Because of its proximity to the Dollar Ridge Fire, super scoopers on loan from this blaze will be used during the Deer Creek Fire shortly.
