Cox: Medical Organization In U.S. Can’t Be Unbiased On Gender-Affirming Care

(Salt Lake City, UT) — Utah Governor Spencer Cox says major organizations in the U.S. are too “politicized” when it comes to information about youth transgender medical treatments. Cox appeared on CBS’ “Face the Nation” yesterday and was asked about Utah laws banning youth access to hormone therapy, puberty blockers and gender reassignment surgery. The Republican governor said he’s looked for “unbiased” information on the subject and has been unable to find it. He called organizations like the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics” political groups” and said they were not doing needed research on the effects of gender-affirming care on youth.
